NAME: Yayguu Hiroshi
JOURNAL:dresseur
AGE: 68
RACE: Vampire
Power: Illusions of extreme pain. Yagyuu doesn't use it often with good reason. It works, but not quite as well on someone with a stronger mind. He absolutely wouldn't be able to use it on someone like Yanagi without being allowed to, but a weaker mind like Kirihara's would fairly easy for him to penetrate. However, he doesn't use this ability on other vampires unless he's given reason to. Humans, on the other hand... well. They're fine. In fact, he uses his ability on the pets he trains quite frequently, though he has to keep them in a state of physical weakness such as blood loss, hunger, or thirst in order to inflict this type of punishment on them.
PERSONALITY: Yagyuu is a rather two-faced person, to be honest. He's very much polite and mannerly to someone's face, very seldom breaking his gentleman's mask. However, it doesn't mean he likes you. It doesn't mean he cares. It means he's likely playing nice until he can walk away to plan their murder, or at the very least a way that will shut them up if theyu annoy him too greatly. He is that very dangerous sort that always hides behind his quiet exterior.
BIO: All Yagyuu ever knew as a boy was the sheltering his parents put him through. They were strict with how they brought him up, teaching him to be wary of those around him. Like an obedient son, he listened and abided by their rules. He made friends with only the necessary people, only spoke when being spoken to, and told no one anything they didn't need to know. It was a solitary life, but there was very little danger in the camps so far from the cities.
Or so they thought.
It came to light one night that Yagyuu's parents had been escapees from a breeding farm in Tokyo. They fled while his mother was pregnant with him, and vampires searched a camp just outside the city and found no one. They thought they were safe and they were very, very wrong. The night Yagyuu found this out was the night he was turned. It haunts his dreams sometimes, but there's nothing that could have been done to change things.
A small group of slavers were sent to the outer rim of the cities, into the country where humans were more abundant. The only one they met was Hiroshi, laying in a bed of grass looking at the stars. He was only nineteen, but a strapping specimen due to field work during the days. He never heard them approach, but when he did it triggered him fighting back. There was a struggle as Yagyuu fought to maintain his freedom and life in the face of danger, and managed to by doing the least expected thing... he bit his captor. It was a dangerous gamble, he knew, but he had little choice in the matter. They both outnumbered and outpowered him and if he did nothing he would have the same fate fall upon his shoulders as the one his parents escaped from. But the thing he hadn't planned on was swallowing vampire blood. He'd tried his best to spit it out, but without latching on and fiercely tearing at skin he wouldn't be able to do much of anything, and unfortunately he took in quite the mouthful. Yagyuu felt himself already starting to change. It was like his cells were bursting as a cold sweat overcame him and made him collapse to the ground, coughing. It wasn't a fast progression but he had to do something to keep his captors from actually taking him. He didn't know what the vampire world was like for a vampire, only what his parents told him about what it was like for humans. Yagyuu managed to get his hands on a sharp rock and ended up bludgeoning one of the vampires to death, smashing their skull in with the repeated force. It left him bloody and scratched and bruised but he won. He took one of them down while the other fled.
The blood... Yagyuu was covered in it. It dripped off him and teased him and he was found by his family that way. Licking his fingers with a perverse smile, practically on the verge of hysteria.
That night, he killed his little sister in cold blood, his mother screaming for help as she tried to pry him off. All because they were the unfortunate ones to find him. They were the ones that suffered the price of his wish for freedom from that kind of life for even just an hour.
Yagyuu soon realized his mistake and ran. Ran until his limbs were exhausted, and found himself outside of a vampire city. It was the only place he could go and he hated both humans and vampires alike for that. For making him a captive of one world or the other. But he was a swift learner. It took no time to realize the vampires had their own system of life. Their own hierarchy and comfortable living. He worked in clubs where humans were used as little more than tools for entertainment and food, watching the way they carried themselves. One night, one particular human decided to be fresh. Bold. Yagyuu didn't like it and struck him down, reprimanding him for his insolence. That is what started his long career as a pet trainer, since he was offered a job in one of the positions. Yagyuu has been doing so ever since, and is revered as one of the best pet trainers. Not only that, he manages to crack the harder cases.
SAMPLE:
The night was impossibly muggy as he stepped outside into the fresh air. It was as if he could pluck the moister from the very air around himself and put it into a glass for drinking. Yagyuu adjusted the tie around his neck, loosening it by the slightest increment. Nothing that would make him look unkempt in in the public eye, surely, but there was time enough to readjust himself before he met with a pet owner.
Yagyuu hailed a taxi, which promptly pulled up to the curb. He slid into the back easily, resting against the plush leather. It was much cooler on the inside, but it left him feeling no less tense.
"Where to?" The cabbie asked, looking at Yagyuu in his rear view mirror.
He rattled off the address and forced himself to look out the window. Talking to the common folk, vampire or human, was strictly off limits to himself. He needn't associate with any of them.
"Hot as balls out there, ain't it?"
"Quite," Yagyuu responded. "It's almost tempting to wring my jacket." However, he couldn't look impolite when spoken to. And apparently this cabbie liked to converse. Fantastic.
